Cognitive behavioral therapy works by helping partners recognize their negative thought patterns and replace them with more positive and realistic ones. Research has been done to show that CBT can actually solve infertility problems by reducing stress and anxiety levels. Other research focuses on the effectiveness of this method in treating depression and anxiety issues.

5.    Hypnosis. Contrary to what we see on media, hypnosis is not looking at a shiny object, falling asleep, and doing silly things ordered to us by a magician. It is actually a way to solve infertility problems by inducing the patient to go into a deep, sleeplike trance through relaxation. Once relaxed, a patient’s brain becomes more open to suggestions given by the hypnotist to replace the negative thoughts with more positive alternatives. Self-hypnosis can also be done with the use of programmed hypnosis audios or guided-imagery. Research shows that women who are hypnotized during embryo transfer in IVF have higher success rates than those who aren’t.
